Despite being based in Portsmouth the majority of my weddings have always been elsewhere around the UK, fortunately though I have now had the chance to experience a winter wedding at The Queens Hotel, Portsmouth. How was it? Well it was wet, despite having plans to get at least some footage outside with the couple, it didn't stop raining from the moment the ceremony started until the evening.
However that doesn't mean that being able to capture couple and group photos was off the cards entirely, it was just a bit of a squeeze. For anyone else that films or photographs weddings, when the whole wedding is on the inside it makes group photoshoots tight, and I mean if you want to get all 60+ guests into one photo, I sugest something wider than a 24mm. Not to ramble on about the gear needed, but I used a 24-70mm lens for the whole day and the group shots were the only part that made it super tricky to get everyone into one frame, so if you can go wider, do it!
The interior however is incredible, from a large open fireplace to high old decorated ceilings The Queens Hotel has it all!
If you are looking for a classy, but old fashioned look with stunning interior with beautiful ceramic ceilings and decor, then you must go and check out The Queens Hotel!
